Lithology and Thickness
The Shilu Gr is divided into six beds. First (lowest) bed is dominated by gray to dark gray quartzose schist and quartzite, the top is quartzose sericite schist, the bottom is not seen, and it is more than 215 m thick. Second bed composed of brown yellow diopside tremolite (metamorphosed sediment rich in dolomite and quartz) has a thickness of 50-100 m. Third bed consists of light gray or gray sericite-quartz schist and gray purple sericite schist, and is 306 m thick. Fourth bed consists of gray to light gray, medium- to thick-bedded quartzite intercalated with minor quartz-sericite schist, 103 m thick. Fifth bed is sericite schist and quartzose sericite schist with a maximum thickness of 450 m. Sixth (uppermost) bed is gray dolomitic crystalline limestone, dolomite and black carbonaceous slate intercalating diopsidite and tremolitite. Its top is incomplete and the thickness is more than 250 m.
